Licensee portal

IMPORTANT: In November 2025, REA upgraded the licensee portal. Visit rea.govt.nz/upgrades for further information.

If you are an existing licensee and have already used your personalised link, or you are applying for a licence for the first-time:

Click here to log-in to the upgraded portal.

If you are an existing licensee and haven’t used your personalised link:

Follow the instructions below to activate your profile in the upgraded portal.

Step 1

Check your RealMe details are up to date: Go to RealMe.govt.nz and check your RealMe details are up-to-date and working by logging in. If you have forgotten your username or password, click Forgot Username or Forgot password on the log in page. Do this before you proceed to Step 2 below.

Step 2

Find your personalised link: Check your inbox for an email from DoNotForward@rea.govt.nz, with the subject line "REA – Your link to the upgraded licensee portal". This email was sent to you between 28 November and 4 December 2025. Tip: Check your deleted and junk mail folders.

Step 3

Click on the personalised link in the email: Complete the RealMe login process.

Step 4

Verify you can access the portal: Once the RealMe identification process is complete you will go through to the upgraded REA portal and you will see your licence information and contact details. If you do not see your licence information and contact details, contact licensing@rea.govt.nz.

Do not enter any new information.

Note: If you use the same device as another user, ensure they have logged out completely, or use a different device.
